James Served in the Revolutionary War from May 12, 1781 until May 12, 1782 in the 10th Regiment of Captain Thomas Donoho's Company.
The Trigg County Line of the Thomas Families.
James and his wife traveled by covered wagon and flatboat to Trigg County, Kentucky from Bertie County, North Carolina in 1806. They settled on a 200 acre land grant on Donaldson Creek.
James married Mary STANDLEY. (Mary STANDLEY was born in 1762 in Bertie County, North Carolina, died on 12 APR 1825 in Trigg County, Kentucky and was buried in James Thomas Cemetery.)
James next married Dilla Mitchell FARMER.
