Obituary - The Barnesville Enterprise - Thursday, August 31, 1950 - Mrs.Jane Mccort Dies in 85th Year: Mrs. Jane McCort, for many years a well known and respected resident of South Chestnut Street, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Johnson of Route 3, near Somerton. The remains were brought to the Campbell Funeral Home, and taken to the Church of the Assumption where the funeral mass was conducted Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. Father Rudolph Wargo. Burial was made in the Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. McCort was born in Temperanceville October 25, 1865, the daughter of Edward and Sarah Stephens. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Louis Haren, Mrs. Harry Wellings, Mrs. JamesToohey, and Frank Poulton, all of Canton, Mrs. Arthur Palmer of Glendale, California, Mrs. Mildred Persons and Mrs. Clyde Johnson of Barnesville. There are also 25 grandchildren, and one brother, George Stephens of LongBeach, California. Jane married John A. POULTON, son of Joshua F. POULTON and Elizabeth Jane DOUGHERTY, on 10 JAN 1882 in Barnesville, Ohio - Belmont County. (John A. POULTON was born in APR 1860 in Graysville, Ohio - Monroe County, died in 1911 in Newark, Licking Co., Ohio and was buried in Saint Mary's Cemetery - Beaver Township - Noble County, Ohio.) The cause of his death was Struck by an Overhead Bridge. Jane next married Unknown McCORT. |
