Obituary - Youngstown Daily Vindicator - October 18, 1982 - Bert B. Slevin Dies; Operated Hearth Shop: Services will be held at 11:30 Tuesday at the Higgins Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield, and at noon in St. Charles Church for Bert B. Slevin, 78, of 5950 Glenwood Ave., who died of a heart ailment at 5:03 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center where he had been a patient for one week. Mr. Slevin was born January 11, 1904, in Barnesville, a son of Michael and Ursula Maguire Slevin, coming to this area from Akron in 1945. He owned and operated the Ajusta Post Corp., and the Hearth Shop and Ornamental Iron Division, retiring in 1971. He was a member of St. Charles Church and was president of the Firestone Furnishings National Association. Besides his wife, the former, Kathryn "Kay" Skibo, he leaves a son, Dr. Robert Lee Slevin of Arnold, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Eloise Clark of Hopkinsville, Ky.; and two grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
