Obituary - Barnesville Enterprise: Mrs. Ira Parks - The death of Mrs. Ira Parks, a former resident here, which occurred in Akron Hospital on Friday as a result of an operation for appendicitis, came as a great shock to her relatives and friends. She was visiting her niece, Mrs. M.A. Slevin in that city when stricken. She was hurried to the hospital and operated upon Sunday August 12, but owing to her condition only lived a few days. Mrs. Jennie Crimmons Parks was born at Grayesville, Monroe Co., Ohio on February 19, 1869 and lived her early life in that community and atTemperanceville. A number of years ago, she came to Barnesville, and was an efficient seamstress. In later years, she was in charge of the altering room of the ready-to-wear department of the T.& J. Bradford Store, but following her marriage to Mr. Parks, she moved to Clarksburg,West Virginia and from there to Zanesville, Ohio, where she was located at the time of her death. Besides her husband, Mr. Ira Parks she issurvived by one son, Mr. Elmer Poulton, south of Barnesville; one brother in Los Angeles, California; one brother in Temperanceville and one sister, Mrs. Isaac Hager, Barnesville. The remains were brought to the home of her niece, Mrs. Anna Hunkler on East Main St., Sunday and on Monday morning at 9:00 o'clock, funeral service was conducted at the Church of the Assumption of which the deceased was a member, by Rev. J. G.Mehler and burial was made in the Catholic Cemetery.
